day 1 down....? more to go

Now it's time to separate fact from fiction...

Fact: I "successfully" made it through the first day.

-However, it would not have happened if it weren't for all the prayers and warm thoughts sent from you guys, facebook friends, IRL friends, and family!

Fact: I did not cry!

-This is also a great accomplishment if you know me at all!

Fiction: I made a middle schooler angry.

-I annoyed a young boy when I asked if he washed his hands after using the bathroom....HELLO just wash your hands....I don't want your fungus!

Fact: The parking space I was ever so excited about was occupied this morning.

-It was sad.

Fiction: 4 years of college will prepare you for your 1st day of work.

-HA...to me, a majority of nursing is on the job training. school is for learning why, jobs are for learning how. And I don't think anything will ever prepare you for your 1st day anywhere!

Fact: I'm scared that I won't like my job....but I also think that's coming from me being completely overwhelmed and underprepared for my first day.

-I will give everything I can to this job, and if after 9.5 months I am unhappy there will always be a need for pediatric nurses (at least I hope there will be in a year...)
-I think this is a totally normal feeling. I expect to really start to understand what I'm doing, and begin to love it. I will keep you all updated!

Fact: this picture makes me happy....

Yes that is a fanny...and I rocked it...(only in the apartment though!)

Thank you all for being such great supporters! Slipping away to read my comments helped me along the chaos of today!

whew... fanny pack? Really? Whatever respect I had for you... well it's still there, but notably less than before.

Congrats on the new job, you'll be the best damn school nurse those kids have seen. Keep making kids wash their hands... that's gross.

Speaking of blogs.... I'm glad that you put the link to yours!

And I would just like to say that I am incredibly upset about someone being in your parking space the first day ;-)

That is the cutest fanny(pack) I have ever seen. I would also invest in lots and lots of hand sanitizer unless you are going to personally follow those grubby boys in the bathroom and wash their hands for them!!!

You could TOTALLY get away with the fanny. ha. I looked for you on FB, but alas I couldn't find you!
