In the cold and snow of winter....

How many of us are going through a "winter" right now? I don't literally mean the time between fall and spring, but a cold, bleak, hopeless time in our lives?

Rhett and I are going through a winter with his job situation, The Mays are going through a winter coping with the death of sweet little Taylor, so many others are dealing with winters that may include abuse, death, miscarriages, and many other things. But there is a promise in Jesus Christ, He will deliver us through our winter into a brand new and wonderful spring.

Psalms 27:14
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Last week in church I was praying for our situation and situations of others, when the sung prayer response was the first verse from the "Hymn of Promise"

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree;
In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

I am in awe with how God does things that gently remind us that He is right by your side. Some may call it "coincidence," I call it a deliberate reminder of God's amazing love.

So when you are in the thick of a winter, always remember God will bring you through.

...there's a spring that waits to be...something God alone can see!
