How to make.....

The Smashing Pumpkin Smoothie a la Keva Juice

Ohhh people....this time of year all I want is pumpkin and cold weather and soup.

But seeing how we moved to the Desert where it is still consistently in the high 80s, soup just isn't gonna work.

SO, the next best thing is pumpkin pie in smoothie form....it's sooooo good!

1st gather your ingredients:
The key is to get the pumpkin pie mix (in a can). That keeps this super simple!

I goofed up though and didn't get non-fat yogurt...ooh well.

2nd Mix it up....like liquify the crap out of it....you don't want chunks of ice!

3rd Enjoy!

1/2 cup of canned SPICED pumpkin (aka pumpkin pie mix)
3/4 cup non-fat milk
4 scoops of non-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
3/4 cup crushed ice

What a sweet blog world it is...

Thanks to everyone who commented on yesterday's post.  I did have a better day today.  Some things were accomplished, and I even laughed a little.

Here are a few pictures to recap my day.

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus sent a few of their clowns to come visit some of the kiddos today.  They were so much fun and only one of the little ones started crying (pretty amazing considering how many people find clowns scary)....here's one of their parting gifts...

Just call me Mrs. Patch Adams!

Another reason why I had a better day was seeing my husband put the nose on and discovering some crack Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs that My Sister-in-law left on the counter. I think I actually squealed with excitement....there's nothing better for your heart or fat butt than those Reese's eggs....A-mazing!

How was everyone else's day?

How to make.....

Ice Cream!

Oh how I do love ice cream. I love when it's dressed up as chocolate chip, candy bar flavors, in a sundae, milkshake, over fruit, in a cone, any way you make it, I'm sure I would love it! However, nothing is better than the pure, unadulterated goodness of homemade ice cream! I always thought that my mom had the best recipe (which I still LOVE), but once I tried Marmie's (Rhett's mom) ice cream, there was no match. It tastes like heaven (or crack) in scoopable form.

So I thought I would share the recipe with you all!

First you need either this...

or this
I personally prefer the Cuisinart....it's so much easier, not as loud, and you don't have to get ice or rock salt. I have written all the instructions for the Cuisinart in this post.

Second, mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl, then pour into the bowl and push the on button. Let is churn and stir all the soon to be ice cream goodness.

Third, this is an optional step. If you want to make ice cream with candy pieces, fruit chunks, nuts, etc., then about 5- 10 minutes before the ice cream is complete add to the bowl (one of my personal favorites is butterfinger). Please make sure that it is in small enough pieces that it won't overheat your machine (check the instructions so you don't break anything).

Finally, turn the machine off and enjoy the goodness that is before you either straight out of the freezer bowl or in smaller bowl.

This is what heaven/crack in a bowl looks like....

So here's the recipe:

Marmie's special Ice Cream:

(these are the basic ingredients)
2 cans Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup whippin' cream
3 cups half and half
1 tsp. vanilla

Here are some variations:
1 tsp. cinnamon added to the above mixture will yield the delicious cinnamon ice cream
3 butterfingers crushed up will give you buterfinger ice cream

the possibilities are endless...what kind of ice cream are you going to make?
