"What did Max do" Wednesday

Thank you all for the kind words yesterday!  I greatly appreciate your prayers and I know the others I mentioned do as well!

To lighten up the mood today, I decided to bring back WDMDW!

Max has had a pretty boring few months, other than getting to spend time with his uncles and aunt....Baxter and Scooter (my folks dogs) & Molly and "unnamed dog who went my about 10 different names while we were there" ( Marmie's dogs).

Unfortunately I didn't get any good pics of those butt-sniffing reunions, but here are a few recent ones!

Here is my little old dirty dog showing me some love!  He's so cute!

When I see this picture, I like to start singing the song..."Every move you make, every step you take, Max is watching you!"

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!  Just remember we are halfway to Friday!

"What did Max do" Wednesday

Max loves the dirt....

I have decided that while we are at work, he is just rolling around in it.

But it makes him a happy boy!

(Don't worry, he has gotten a hair cut and a bath since these photos were taken!).

Don't forget to enter my giveaway!  Only 3 more days left!

"What did Max do" Wednesday

Max is a dog of many talents.

He can chase his tail, scale the distance of chairs to countertops, bury bras, and melt the hearts of all humans that meet him.

But did you know he can play a mean game of cards?

Watch out World Series of Poker, You will have some serious competition for our Max!

"What did Max do" Wednesday

I have so many great pictures for WDMDW.

I can't contain my excitement!

On with the post!

Max doesn't really know snow.

Ha that rhymed.

When we went to Texas for Christmas, and it was one of the first white Christmases in a long time! It was so wonderful, but Max didn't enjoy the cold. So one day he needed to "mark his territory," and he didn't want to stray very far.

Hence.....
The dog water bowls are located right by the back door.

At least he melted some of the ice.

"What did Max do" Wednesday

Max went for a jog this past weekend.

He started digging....

IN A CACTUS!

That is a cactus....stuck to his head.

My dog is stupid.
You would think he learned his lesson.....but apparently he wanted to chew on it.

Silly Dog

Luckily, he was a trooper when I went to remove it, and only one of the spines was stuck in his head. He didn't even whine. Needless to say, he may think again before digging into a cactus.

Here's his before:

Yes that's 7 months of hair growth....and dirt from the back yard.

And now the after:

Don't ya just want to squeeze him cause he's so cute?!

"What did Max do" Wednesday" returns!

Don't judge how bad of a pet parent I am....but he deserved this! Being all caged up during the day, should come with some kind of a reward!

He liked the whipped cream....homemade even!

"What did Max do" Wednesday" returns!

Well Friends....apparently I have the blog funk. I have wanted to post, but just didn't physically want to do it. Do I have issues? Yes. Well today is a new day.....and finally a new post!

So little ol' Max hasn't given me much material recently, since he's subjected to living in the same 600 sq. foot apartment that we are. He doesn't have a lot of space to be mischievous! However, these pictures are from his last night living in the Albuquerque house. I was loading up my car with things to bring out to Tucson, and I had left to door that leads out to the Garage open. So with boxes in hang, this is what I saw creeping in the car.....

Max was totally ready to go for a ride! I just died laughing!

Silly Max!

"What did Max do" Wednesday

Max is such a silly dog.

I took him to get a haircut last week, and when Rhett and I went to pick him up, he looked great!  There was the handsome dog that we know he is, and in typical groomer fashion, he was sporting a bandana!  Not a typical bandana...

THIS bandana....

He's showing his gay pride!

(This past weekend was Gay Pride weekend in Albuquerque, I didn't realize this until after he had the bandana on!)

However...the story continues.

I wake up the next day (saturday), and notice that the bandana is missing.  Rhett stumbles out of bed and I ask where the bandana is?  This is the conversation that was had.

Me:  "Where's the bandana?" ----(Max has chewed them off of himself at times)
Rhett:  "I threw it away."
Me: "Why...it was so cute!"
Rhett:  "because our dog isn't gay!"
Me:  "How do you know?"
Rhett:  "because I know!  He likes the bitches!"

HILARIOUS!

I never know what is gonna come out of his mouth!

So apparently...Max likes the "bitches!"

"What did Max do" Wednesday" returns!

So we have had a long break from WDMDW, but I have videos of silly Max being his Max-like self.

I went for a jog with my friend Katie that day and Max of course had to come along....And this is what happens when your lack of exercising affects your dog!

isn't he so cute?

"What did Max do" Wednesday....

The inspiration for this post came from the swap I participated in recently from Country Girl, City Life.

I had an awesome swap partner named Valerie, who sent me a HUGE box full of goodies! So here are a few pictures from the fun things both Max and I got!

Note Max already devouring his gift!

Thanks Valerie!  We both loved it!

I hope you all have a happy hump day!

"What did Max do" Wednesday....

Has it really been 2 weeks since the last WDMDW update? How sad....poor Max is feeling neglected by the blog world.

But never fear....2 videos are here!

The light quality is pretty poor, and overall they are pretty stupid videos, but I've run pretty low on material since the doggie door has been out of commission. So please enjoy this week's WDMDW.

Poor Max only has rocks to play with. (I promise he has toys, rocks are just apparently more fun)

The nightly ritual!

"What did Max do" Wednesday....

Well....unfortunately in lieu of Friday's events (the break in), the WDMDW section maybe slow down a tad bit.  We no longer feel comfortable keeping the doggie door on the backdoor (this is how the jerks broke in), so I forsee it may slow down the deceptive little dog.....

So, so long Doggie Door.  We enjoyed our time together....you allowed Max tons of freedom:  the opportunity for him to bury so many things (bras, spaghetti, granola bars, purses) and the ability to let him sprint all around the house and then burst outside to go puke to name a few.  You did your job with honor and loyalty....but you weren't quite strong enough to keep out the bad guys which was no fault of yours.  Maybe we will find a brother or sister of yours that is a little more capable to protect our house.  We will find you a good home, don't you worry.

Well, that's about all I've got for today...I hope you all have a fabulous wednesday!

"What did Max do" Wednesday....

Well Max had quite an eventful time with my cousin Jake and his gf Jess. One day we took a walk on the Bosque and happened upon the Unser Racing Museum. We had a good ol' time taking pictures for Christmas cards . Max loved the long walk and enjoyed trying to kill make friends with some of the area dogs. Here are some of the fun pictures that were taken!

Watch out....he only has a license to bury...

look for this picture in your mailbox come Christmas 2009!

"What did Max do" Wednesday....

After our exciting announcement this morning, it is absolutely imperative that we have another installment of WDMDW!

So this week in the life of Max, he hasn't been too destructive (I have my cousin in town with his gf and he has been getting LOTS of attention).  However, in the process of getting ready for their arrival we started superblitzing (or rather I ran around going NUTS trying to do 6 months worth of cleaning in 2 days).  And in the process, Max found some new toys.....

Max also got presentable for the company that was coming...

Look at my 2 handsome boys!

Well I hope you all enjoyed this installment of WDMDW! CHeck back next week for more!

"What did Max do" Wednesday....a little late

Ok Ok...I know I am totally lame, but I didn't get my act together to post a WDMD W yesterday, so you are getting the Thursday version....with 2 pictures!

I have no idea where Max found this shower poof...not from the shower, who knows!
(look closely...there is a poof!)

We were superblitzing the house the other day, and Max tried to make off with some towels....

I find it so comical that Max looks so incredibly guilty when he takes things to bury....he knows that he isn't not supposed to do it, but he still tries to get away with it!

Oh goodness, what will we do with him?

"What did Max do" Wednesday....and Lent

I guess I should really make this...."What did Max NOT do" Wednesday.

Here's the story....

So I was quickly trying to get some last minute things packed up so we could get on our way for our weekend trip to Pampa.  I had the clothes packed, camera and phone charged, ipod synced and ready, when I was looking for the carrying case for my camera. You see, when I first bought the camera (like the actual day I purchased it), Mr. Max thought it was a new toy and took it outside and buried it.  I looked and looked, but was unable to find it.  Yet again, my husband saved the day and found it buried DEEP in his normal hiding place (think the bra incident).

Ok so I digress (my blog wouldn't be complete without constant digression), anyways, so I just assume that Max buried that dang camera case again.  I had looked everywhere that I had left it...and it was not there.  So I go outside and dig, and dig, and dig some more.  No case....now I was starting to get frustrated and a little i mean extremely peeved at the dog.  I go harass Rhett and he looks underneath some papers and voila....a camera case.  So dang it....I'm just an idiot trying to blame my dog for everything!

But this post would not be complete without Max trying to do something sneaky....so here ya go...
Here he was at Christmas trying to steal a stocking full of doggie treats...but alas he was caught only because my folks don't have a doggie door

And for a completely different topic, let's talk about Lent....

I am Methodist born and raised, and I never felt a huge press to participate in the whole "self-denial" of Lent.  I honestly can say I never knew that people did that until college.  A few of my Catholic friends would talk about not eating meat, but that was about it.  My freshman year in college, I learned more about the giving up of things, and partook in my 1st Lenten fast.  I gave up sodas and chocolate.  I was actually quite amazed that I went 40 days without soda (I did cheat on the chocolate part....).

Ok so anyways.  I had pretty much decided that I wasn't going to give anything up this year, until Monday.  I am drinking way too many diet cokes.  I pretty much feel like I'm addicted.  I know they are not good for me, they have very little caffeine, and they are just not satisfying anymore (even though I continue to drink them).  So I say, "No more," at least for 40 days....however I hope to completely break my habit.

So goodbye for now diet coke...i hope to not see you again!
